Peer Support Workers

A new manifestation of peer support work is emerging as the wellbeing of staff throughout the NHS and care organisations takes on a new urgency. Our PSW training and support programs respond to ever increasing demand in real time.

Peer Support Workers

Peer Support Work is a growing field. We are currently running two-day training events and ongoing support or support and supervision programs with Charity and NHS workers.

PSWs are the first line of support for colleagues across organisations.

Their skills are invaluable where an already over-stretched workforce is still facing the challenges of the pandemic plus the ongoing demands presented by the recovery needs of colleagues and clients. Meanwhile resilience in the face of uncertainty has become a priority.

Our programs acknowledge these demands and we work closely with teams of Peer Support Workers providing support in real time, by working alongside them. We help with the setting up of vital, early, conversations, processes and provision as the need arises.

A survey of 1,257 physicians and nurses during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in China found that about 50% of respondents reported symptoms of depression, 44% reported symptoms of anxiety and 34% reported insomnia.
