Interactive event of discussions on the workforce future
#HSCworkforcefuture
On May 18th, colleagues across the health and social care sectors came together in London to share insights and experiences, hear from leaders in the field, and come up with new solutions to the shared problems across care.
The day was divided into themes of wellbeing (how we can look after our workforce) and integration (how we can integrate the workforce), with an overarching aim of making it sustainable. It was structured with key note speakers, including Sir David Nicholson and Liz Kendal MP, a panel discussion, and three interactive roundtable discussions. In bringing together a balance of both sectors, where each individuals brought unique and invaluable contributions, we were able to think differently and fast track conversations to reach actionable takeaways.

On Thursday 28th September, our Director, Alessandro Alagna, facilitated a panel discussion on the 'Progress of integrated care systems so far, and the opportunities and challenges going forward' with:
π€ Alison O'Donnell (Head of Education, Training and Development; Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust)
π€ Mark Byrne (Chair; North West Surrey Health and Care Alliance) and
π€ Jack Wagstaff (Chief Officer; North West Surrey Health and Care Alliance)
The panel took place at the Healthcare Summit 2023 (#HCSummit23) in London's Business Design Centre in Islington, and was part of a jam-packed day of panel talks, roundtables, and networking.
The three main topics of the ICSs panel were:
- the experience of working with, or within, an ICS: what works and what doesn't so far
- workforce integration: progress to date, how can ICS help and are they helping?
- looking two years ahead, where do we want ICSs to be? What should be the ambitions and aspirations?
Talent for Care are shaping the conversations on collaborative working with ICBs and ICSs as part of the solution to building successfully integrated care for patients across the UK.
